چکیده

We discuss a scheme for performing Jordan-Wigner transformation various lattice fermion systems in two and three dimensions which keeps internal spatial symmetries manifest. The correspondence between fermionic bosonic operators is established with the help of auxiliary Majorana fermions. current construction applicable to general lattices even coordination number an arbitrary flavors. approach demonstrated on single-orbital square, triangular cubic spin-1/2 also relation some quantum spin liquid models.

Subtleties in Cpt-transformation for Majorana Fermions

We point out the relevance of the so-called Majorana creation phase in the s-channel matrix elements in connection with the CPT-transformation of the latter.

Jordan–Wigner Fermions and Dynamic Probes of Quantum Spin Chains

With the help of the Jordan–Wigner transformation the spin-12 XY chains can be reformulated in terms of noninteracting spinless fermions and, as a result, many statistical-mechanics calculations can be performed rigorously, i.e. without making any simplifying approximations. We are interested in dynamic properties of such chains (time-dependent spin correlation functions, dynamic structure fact...

Three-dimensional Majorana fermions in chiral superconductors

Using a systematic symmetry and topology analysis, we establish that three-dimensional chiral superconductors with strong spin-orbit coupling and odd-parity pairing generically host low-energy nodal quasiparticles that are spin-nondegenerate and realize Majorana fermions in three dimensions. By examining all types of chiral Cooper pairs with total angular momentum J formed by Bloch electrons wi...

Mapping local Hamiltonians of fermions to local Hamiltonians of spins

We show how to map local fermionic problems onto local spin problems on a lattice in any dimension. The main idea is to introduce auxiliary degrees of freedom, represented by Majorana fermions, which allow us to extend the Jordan–Wigner transformation to dimensions higher than one. We also discuss the implications of our results in the numerical investigation of fermionic systems.

Topological Superfluids: Majorana Fermions

The subject of topological superfluids, though they were not originally called by that name, actually antedates that of topological insulators, and has played a major role in the attempt to implement topological quantum computation (see lectures 26 and 28). Crudely speaking, the analogy with TI’s goes as follows: in a crystalline solid with spin-orbit coupling, the single-particle energy eigens...
